Vincent update 2.6.0, NEW FEATURES!!

Update announcement sent by email to subscribers on August 4th, 2015

This update contains all of the following improvements:

  • NEW FEATURE: Web Access. WHAT?! Yup, it is finally here. You can now access Vincent directly at www.slingshotdatalabs.com. Just click the Login button and enter your existing username and password. Use it as a backup option if you forget your iPhone at home, or your iPad battery is dead. Some may like it so much that they use it as their primary connection method. It is up to you. I am really excited about the new opportunities this will create for Vincent and this is just the beginning. For now, the web access is mobile optimized, but it works just as well on a desktop. The layout responds to the size of your browser window, so if using on a desktop you might want to open it in a separate window and shrink it down to a mobile device sized window. Pro tip… Once you log in, don’t use your Browser’s back or forward buttons. Only use the buttons provided in Vincent to navigate.
  • NEW FEATURE: Android Support. NO WAY! Yes, for real. Android devices can now use Vincent as well because the new Web Access is optimized for Chrome as well as Safari and Internet Explorer for that matter (Safari or Chrome is preferred).
  • NEW FEATURE: Inspections. This one took a few months of coding all by itself. When you are viewing an Opportunity or Deal record, just swipe to the left (Tap or click on the Navigation Dots on the Web) and you will see the new Inspections feature. Inspections employ custom templates to assist with repeating inspections. The first inspection for each Deal or Opportunity is automatically saved as a template, and the next inspection can be either another template or another inspection based on an existing template. You can rate, note, and photo an unlimited number of rooms and even elements within a room consistently every time. These are great for construction progress, pre-staging condition reports, Land Lord compliance inspections, and anything else you want to inspect and keep accurate records of. This is just the beginning to this feature and there are a lot more enhancements in the roadmap for it.
  • NEW FEATURE: Re-Assignment of contacts to other staff members. If a staff member leaves the business, or just changes roles you can now re-assign their contacts just like you do for Opportunities, or anything else. Support requests for this purpose are no longer required.
  • ENHANCEMENT: Nearly all layouts have been tweaked a bit for better compatibility between all the different platforms we are supporting now. This also includes redesigned top and bottom navigation bars.
  • ENHANCEMENT: Note field added to contacts.
  • ENHANCEMENT: Birthdate field added to contacts.
  • BUG FIX: Fixed an issue that prevented adding photos to properties for some users.
  • BUG FIX: Fixed an issue that presented an error message if the user did not have any assigned records of a particular type and would result in displaying all records instead of none.
  • BUG FIX: Fixed an issue that prevented copy and past for some users.
  • BUG FIX: Fixed an issue that prevented dictation for some users.

Vincent iOS Update 2.3.1

Update announcement sent by email to subscribers on December 5th, 2013

Vincent iOS update 2.3.1 is online and ready for you!

This update contains all of the following improvements:

  • BUG FIX: Thanks to great feedback we were able to resolve a couple of issues with the new notification for re-assigned Activities feature that was recently introduced in version 2.3.0. One issue that was causing the system to time out and crash for some users has been resolved. Also, the notification rules have been greatly improved so that notifications will only go out to a person involved in the re-assignment (either previously or newly assigned) if they are not the person making the change. This way, delegating multiple activities will no longer result in a flood of email to your own in-box.
  • ENHANCEMENT: Activities listed on the Opportunity detail page now display the assigned user, the due date, and the date that the Activity was completed. This will help support the new ability to delegate Activities by allowing better insight into the status and progress of the delegated items in one simple view.

Please check out these updates the next time you login and please be sure to let us know what you think. As always, your feedback and suggestions are very important to us.

Vincent iOS Update 2.3.0, NEW FEATURES!!

Update announcement sent by email to subscribers on November 20th, 2013

Vincent iOS update 2.3.0 is online and ready for you!

This update contains all of the following improvements:

  • NEW FEATURE: Notifications are here!!! Activities that are re-assigned to another user will now generate an automatic email notification to both users. This is a very intricate feature and it has worked perfectly in our testing. If you experience any difficulties with it please check your email settings under “Company Profile” and make sure that a current email account is setup there and that the settings are correct. This is the email account used to send the outgoing notification. Also, check to make sure that each staff member has a valid email address listed under their user profile. These addresses are used as the destination address for the notification. If you have confirmed this information is incorrect and you are still having issues, or if the problem is related to the content of the notifications, please send an email to support@slingshotdatalabs.com and we will help you get it resolved.
  • NEW FEATURE: Automatic Capitalization is here!!! All fields have now been optimized with an automatic capitalization function. Upon exiting a field, the system will evaluate the text entered and capitalize as needed. For title and proper name fields, all words in the field are automatically capitalized. For detail, summery, or note fields, only the first word is capitalized.
  • BUG FIX: Corrected an issue that color coded Deals after three days.
  • BUG FIX: Other Minor bug fixes and UI improvements

Please check out these updates the next time you login and please be sure to let us know what you think. As always, your feedback and suggestions are very important to us.

Vincent iOS Update 2.2.0, NEW FEATURES!!

Update announcement sent by email to subscribers on October 24th, 2013

Vincent iOS update 2.2.0 is online and ready for you!

This update contains all of the following improvements:

  • NEW FEATURE: Activities can now be re-assigned to another user. This will allow you to create a work plan for your Opportunity and then delegate the Activities to other users. Each Activity that was created as part of an Opportunity work plan will still be tracked under the Opportunity it is related to. This feature can also be used with Activities that are not related to an Opportunity.
  • NEW FEATURE: A new data category has been created on the main menu called “Deals”. This can be used to create a separate list of records for Opportunities that have been contracted. Records in the Deal list do not change color every three days like Opportunities do, because the urgency on Follow-up is less once a contract is in place. To upgrade an Opportunity to a Deal, simply open the Opportunities detail page, then open the menu and select “Change Status”. You will then have the option to mark it as “Contracted", “Remove" the opportunity, or “Cancel". In other words, a “Deal” is defined as a 'Contracted Opportunity’ and shares all of the same data but now under a new label.
  • NEW FEATURE: All layouts for iPad have now been upgraded to use the same layouts as the iPhone version and these are stretched to fill the larger screen size enabling you to see more of the data at once with less scrolling. This means that all of the new features in Vincent that have previously been iPhone exclusives, are now available on iPad as well. This is a major change to the architecture of the system and will better support our road map going forward. In a future release, this new architecture will enable us to more easily customize the layouts for iPad to take take full advantage of the larger screen, while keeping the feature set consistent across both devices.

Vincent iOS Update 2.1.2

Update announcement sent by email to subscribers on October 1st, 2013

Vincent iOS update 2.1.2 is online and ready for you!

This update contains all of the following improvements:

  • Resolved an issue that prevented new Activities from being successfully created when beginning the process from the Assigned Activity list.
  • Resolved an issue that prevented users from accessing property details after performing a property search initiated from the Assigned Property list.
  • Improved the workflow for adding new photos to a property that does not have an MLS number.
  • Your company name now displays on the Main Menu screen.
  • The update version number is now being displayed on the splash screen to verify that the latest update is active on your account. We will also be displaying this number in the update announcements so that you can cross reference the improvement list in the announcement with the version installed if you wish. There are three numbers in the version number such as “2.1.2” The first number refers to the number of major overhauls to the system. The second number refers to releases within that overhaul that included new features. The third number refers to releases within that new feature set that have been purely bug fix releases. So, we are currently at the second major overhaul which has had one release containing new features and that feature set has been updated two more times with bug fixes.

Vincent for iOS Update: NEW FEATURE, iOS 7 COMPATIBILITY

Update announcement sent by email to subscribers on September 25th, 2013

We have a new update online and ready for you!

This update contains all of the following improvements and more:

  • ENHANCED FEATURE: Punch clock has been both improved and fixed for iPhone users. Punch history is now sorted based on an editable date field behind the scenes. This will allow administrators to make manual adjustments for employees who forget to punch or punch incorrectly. For now, the edit function is limited to Vincent Support Staff. In a future update this will be editable in Vincent’s UI. Also fixed an issue where users could punch in but not punch out. An instructional dialog has been added to the punch history screen with a reminder and further details on how to use this feature update. NOTE: We are aware that this update will break punch clock functionality for iPad users. A solution for this is already in the works.
  • ENHANCED FEATURE: Contacts “Company” field now presents the option to either enter a new company name or to choose from an alphabetical list of previously entered companies.
  • This update resolves an issue on devices running iOS 7 where selecting the home screen icon fails to launch Vincent and instead pauses at a blank white screen. IMPORTANT… This portion of the update should only be installed on devices running iOS 7 or higher. All other features do not require any installation if you have not yet updated to iOS 7.
  • Numerous other minor UI enhancements and bug fixes.

Please check out these updates the next time you login and please be sure to let us know what you think. As always, your feedback and suggestions are very important to us.
